Samsung Galaxy A54 – Samsung has expanded its mid-range Galaxy A series with the introduction of two new smartphones: the A34 5G and the A54 5G. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G, which combines a luxury appearance at a mid-range price, will be the subject of our review today. The phone is equipped with a potent chipset that provides everyday performance and a 120Hz AMOLED display that offers a fantastic content consumption experience.
Additionally, the A54 5G comes with a large 5000mAh battery that provides a two-day battery backup. However, it only supports 25W fast charging, which may be considered slow for its price point. We’ll see if the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is the greatest smartphone under $40,000 in our review. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, which is renowned for its potent performance and effective power consumption, powers the phone. The 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM it provides should be plenty for most users’ needs.Â

On the back of the gadget, there is a quadruple-camera array with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. A 32-megapixel selfie camera is located on the front of the device.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS are among the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G’s further features. The phone utilizes Android 11 and Samsung’s One UI 3.1 operating system.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is an impressive mid-range phone that offers strong performance, a beautiful display, and a capable camera system. While the 25W fast charging support may be a downside for some users, the large battery capacity should still provide a decent battery life.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Review
Two storage options and 8GB of RAM are offered with the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G in India. Priced at Rs. 38,999 for the 128GB internal storage option and Rs. 40,999 for the 256GB internal storage option. Amazing Lime, Awesome Graphite, and Brilliant Violet are the three eye-catching color options for the smartphone. The phone is available for direct purchase through the Samsung website as well as other e-commerce sites like Flipkart.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Specs
On paper, the Samsung Galaxy A54 has some amazing features, including a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset, 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB ROM, Android v13 operating system, 50MP+12MP+5MP rear camera, 32MP front camera, and 5000 mAh battery. The phone weighs 202 grams and has dimensions of 158.2 x 76.7 x 8.2 mm.
In terms of design and build, the Samsung Galaxy A54 has a premium look and feel with its glass back and matte finish. The curved edges make it comfortable to hold, while the camera lenses at the back resemble those of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S23. Violet, Graphite, and Lime are the three color choices for the phone.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Camera
On the rear of the Samsung Galaxy A54 are three cameras: a 50 MP primary camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5 MP macro camera. The punch-hole cutout on the front houses a 32 MP selfie camera. In daylight conditions, the main camera takes impressive shots with clear details, vibrant colors, and a wide dynamic range. The portrait photos have good edge detection and were also good.
Low-light pictures were decent, but with some noise. The dedicated night mode helped to improve the overall image quality. Ultra-wide shots were decent in terms of detail, but not as good when zoomed in. The 32 MP front camera takes superb selfies with sharp and clear details, natural-looking skin tones, and good overall image quality.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Battery and Charging
The Samsung Galaxy A54 is equipped with a large 5000mAh battery that offers impressive battery backup. It can last for up to two days on casual usage and provides over 6 hours of screen-on time. Even for heavy users, the battery can still last for a full day of usage. However, the charging speed is not as fast as expected, as it only supports 25W fast charging. With a 25W adaptor, the phone can be fully charged in less than 2 hours, although it is disappointing that Samsung does not include a charger with the phone.

Samsung Galaxy A54 Display
The Samsung Galaxy A54 boasts a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that delivers an exceptional viewing experience. The colors are vivid, and the details are crisp, ensuring that users will enjoy their time with the phone. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures that the display is smooth and responsive, making scrolling through social media or watching videos a breeze.
The display is also easily usable in strong sunlight thanks to its peak brightness of 1000 nits. The phone supports Widevine L1 and HDR playing on YouTube, and the display’s low bezels further improve the viewing experience. The Samsung Galaxy A54 boasts an excellent display overall that should please even the pickiest consumers.
Samsung Galaxy Performance and Software
With its Samsung Exynos 1380 CPU and 8GB of RAM, the Samsung Galaxy A54 offers excellent performance. The phone easily does routine chores, and moving between apps is simple. Additionally, it can do more demanding jobs like gaming and image/video editing. In fact, I put it to the test with two demanding mobile games—Asphalt 9 and Apex Legends—and all of them performed flawlessly on medium to high settings. During extended gaming, the phone’s back did get a little warm, but this is typical.
The phone features a powerful CPU for everyday performance and a 120Hz AMOLED screen for an excellent content-viewing experience. The A54 5G also includes a sizable 5000mAh battery that offers a two-day battery backup.
One of the few devices that ship with Android 13 out of the box is the Galaxy A54 5G, which runs One UI 5.1, which is based on the most recent version of Android. The pre-installed apps, including Byju’s, Snapchat, Amazon Video, Truecaller, Netflix, and Spotify, may be removed from the settings menu and the user interface is simple to use.
