The scholarship program was started by the administration, in particular by Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the state’s chief minister. The establishment of this program will provide financial aid to all students who want to continue their education but are unable to do so due to the burden it would place on their families. Although many children in the state of Andhra Pradesh have stellar academic records, they lack the financial stability necessary for tuition because they cannot even afford to properly feed themselves. To assist all of those students, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister came up with the program. According to the plan, 694 Cr will be transferred on August 11.

- The only fees that should be imposed on students should be those determined by the government.
- The attendance of students, teachers, and non-teaching staff will now be monitored using the Aadhaar-linked Biometric Attendance system.
- There will be no fee payment if the student’s attendance is less than 75%.
- Students who take courses via correspondence or distance learning are not eligible for the program
- These programs do not accept management or NRI quota students.
Due to the coronavirus, all colleges and universities will be closed through March 31. During this statewide lockdown, students who typically eat lunch at school will instead have it delivered to their homes, according to the state administration. The Andhra Pradesh State Government also issued a directive ordering the distribution of rice, eggs, and peanut “chikkis” for the students by the district education officials and associated organizations. Volunteers from the village will deliver these food items to the children at their homes.
