The scheme is a very intelligent idea to make sure that people from India’s unorganized sectors get a chance to keep earning after they reach the age of 60. So the people need to contribute a minimal sum and they will receive a pension when they turn 60. The people who are allowed to contribute are between the ages of 14 years to 40 years. The amount contributed can be as per a person’s income. The pension later received can be INR 1000, INR 2000, INR 3000, INR 4000, or INR 5000 based on the amount contributed by the person.
