The tournament was canceled due to the pandemic
The Asia Cup tournament is hosted every two years but the 2020 edition was canceled by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) of the tournament due to COVID-19 and its restrictions. The council then proposed a June 2021 window for the tournament to be played in Sri Lanka but the organizers were once again turned down due to the pandemic.
